Hi.

I'm Sogand Schäfer, MD. I am a postdoc at Center for Craniofacial Innovation at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute, currently researching the genetic origins of cleft palate. I am also co-founder and CEO of Weise AI, a precision medicine company building AI-driven genetic tests for physician use.

I've also done research on novel biomaterials for reconstructive surgery, and have organized medical missions to Uganda.

I graduated from Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf in 2023. I originally hail from Germany and now live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

My aspiration is to solve systemic inequalities in access to healthcare worldwide.
